You changed your name, what's your inspiration for it? You changed in lj only, how about your stories in other sites, you would change your author's name too?
Feb. 13th, 2011 07:14 pm (UTC)
Inspiration? Um. boredom? Mr. Micawber (which is the proper spelling) is a character in Dickens's David Copperfield who manages to be both wonderfully wise and foolish. Among my favorites of his sayings:

"Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen pounds nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery."

Very sadface. You're basically the only LJ author I check regularly anymore.
Feb. 13th, 2011 07:17 pm (UTC)
Ah, no sadface! The internets are large. We will meet again, no doubt. ;-)

In Goiânia, Goiás. Near Brasilia. It's really hot here, in the middle of the country.

Again,thank you.

please add me
I'd like to read your earthsea fic based on Tehanu. I'm 20 years past legal drinking age here in the US, and many years too late to the earthsea party... but better late than never :)

Thank you for writing for earthsea.

Re: please add me
Earthsea -- what a wonderful place to visit, no matter when you get there! (Actually, though I started reading the Earthsea as a teen, I've grown to appreciate them more and more as the years have gone on. And, of course, Tehanu and The Other Wind are very much books about and for adults.)

Re: please add me

Thank you very much! I've read and appreciated your Ged and Tenar story--I'm looking forward to having a big enough block in my day (as early as today or at the latest Wednesday) to properly comment on it. But in the meantime, may I ask if there is a special reason you mentioned 'The Other Wind?' Probably you meant to say that the later Earthsea books are more directed toward adults than the first three, but I can't help but ask... is there any hope you might write something for Seserakh and Lebannen, a missing scene from The Other Wind?

I can think of several missing scenes for these two. For instance, what does Seserakh say to Lebannen when he awakes in the grove in front of Azver's summer palace with her actually touching him-- all this time, they've never touched. Just seeing each other's face was something of a trial for them. Or what measures Seserakh attempted to make Lebannen regain consciousness before Brand, Gamble and Onyx showed up, before she grabbed Lebannen's dagger and threatened these accursed sorcerers should they touch him, before Azver showed up to mediate. I also can't help but wonder after reading your awesome Ged and Tenar missing scene whether there has to be some translation and learning of terms before the king and queen awoke such as in
or would they just... communicate as clumsily as they have throughout the entire book? *covers face*

I read Earthsea in my 30's and was still too immature to appreciate all the fine points, but now that I'm in my 40's, many of these 'missing scenes' have begun to tug at me. Of course, not every character, not every relationship can be as well fleshed out as Ged and Tenar's. Even Ged and Tenar could have... benefited from your very wonderful and affecting scene. *bows*

Thank you for writing so beautifully for this fandom, for giving my limited imagination some much needed exercise.

I'm 24 years old, and found you from a fic recommendation on the Potter Fic Weekly forum.

Also, I'm kind of impressed that you managed to send a post 10 years into the past. :D

Re: Requestful
Cool! Any friend of PFW is a friend of mine. ;-)

Also, I'd hope you'd be impressed — that was a LOT of turns of the old Time Turner, let me tell you!

24 year old here, headed on over from Flaming Nargles. Been a bit since I was there, was sad to see I couldn't easily get back into your fics.
Jun. 25th, 2014 07:08 am (UTC)
Welcome, fellow Nargly!

Sorry for the hoops, but it seemed necessary. I'd love to know what you think of what you read.
Dec. 13th, 2014 05:12 pm (UTC)

Dec. 22nd, 2014 05:30 pm (UTC)
Well, you know us Scorpios--intently focused on more important things. ;-)

Hope you enjoy the fics!

Hi! Welcome.

Unfortunately, if you're not on LJ, I can't give you access. :-(
Feb. 28th, 2015 03:51 am (UTC)
Initially read your stuff on restricted section years ago, later found your old LJ, just found this one via some digging. 25.
Feb. 28th, 2015 06:22 pm (UTC)
Hi, Metz! Glad you found your way here. I still miss RS. :-(

The first thing I ever read by you was "Release," when I was looking for Harry/Luna fic back when it was a fairly new ship (this may or may not have been more than seven years ago, shhh) and later found your Harry/Luna/Ginny stuff, which was the first poly fic I ever read. It actually opened my eyes to poly relationships (I'm not poly myself but I had previously never realized it could be a consensual thing) in addition to being delightful stories in a delightful ship.

You're friended. I look forward to hearing what you think. What kinds of fics are you looking for?
